My Congressional Election

Illegal Immigrant Bill:
I came across a bill from the Senate offering me to vote in favor of a bill that will punish businesses who hire Illegal Immigrants to work. I know, however, that the area I come from has lots of agriculture income that heavily depends on this cheap way of labor. Even tho the bill seems very nice, (it offers me to not punish illegal immigrants already in the country) it is much more better for my community in the long run to veto this bill.

EDIT: Fortunately it looks like the community is happy for this and they are supporting me all the way.

NCLB (No Child Left Behind) Bill:
Today I was offered to vote for or against a new bill that will reform state-wide assessments of school-age children in the country. I looked over this bill many times and decided that such a bill, even though it will support the teachers, will heavily dishonor the elderly around my state. As any good candidate would do, I decided to vote against it so that the elderly community supports me.

EDIT: It looks like I have made a huge mistake. Even though I supported the elderly ideas, it looks like the elderly has had a change of heart when considering the new NCLB act. I should have not completely depended on my community 100% but rather see the opinions and ideas of others around me. I was silly and blinded and wish the general audience who support me forgive me for this obstacle on the road.

About my past:
There has been some rumors around my past that I won't either confirm nor refuse it's truth. It is something very childish, in my opinion, to be blurring things out like that in which have nothing to do with my election. I have decided to Insist it has no bearing on the current political situation and will make sure this message spreads out to my supporters. What I was before and what I am now have nothing in common and I do not want any of these "rumors" to influence badly upon my fellow supporters.

Insurance Cap Bill:
There has been some issues with natural disasters for the last few years. Currently there is a bill on the senate floor to put a cap on the insurance rates and I'm on the line to decide whether to vote for it or against it. I have talked with the community and they have said that they want the cap in place. However, other senators are saying that this will affect the government while they bail the insurance companies. Bringing the community first and then me second, I voted for the cap on insurance rates.

I can't say how happy I was when I was reelected! I have tried till this date to make sure that the community's voice is heard right before mine and it seems as though the community values that. I will continue to think about the future of our community and the future of our people as I support or veto new senate bills. Thank you very much for your support and I promise that I will bring more goodies in the future.
